The term "magnetic vortex" is an interesting one. I could be wrong, but to the best of my knowledge nobody has ever observed and/or constructed a static "magnetic vortex" on the macro scale. Is that true?
If one could generate the equivalent of a magnetic vortex on the macro scale, such as out of an arrangement of Permanent Magnets, this could possibly lead to some interesting consequences. To the best of my knowledge, this appears to be impossible. For one thing, it could possibly violate the the laws of thermodynamics, and we can't have that now, can we! ;-)
If anyone knows of anyone who has done this on the macro scale I sure would be obliged if someone could show me where I might find additional information.
