(A) e.g. an electric monopole is a single charge:

electric dipole: http://scienceworld.wolfram.com/physics/ElectricDipole.html 
which consists in two equal and opposite charges. There are also acoustic 
monopoles and dipoles. But there are no magnetic monopoles in nature (N or S 
alone), just dipoles.

(B) and (C) could you be more specific?
