The alternative is to build an entire MeV particle accelerator into the
main terminal of a large Tesla coil.  (Remember the one from old Amateur
Scientist column?  Or this one: http://www.unitednuclear.com/fwa1.htm )
Well, I guess it would have to be a LARGE toroid on such a Tesla coil.

Paraphrasing Dr. Evil:  What does it take around here to get some Tesla
Coils with frick'n particle accelerators attached to their heads?
