Richard,
Here is the Thread on the Steorn forum:

It seems the effect is somewhat akin to the Ouija board, which everyone
in Texas knows about... but on steroids. There seems to be something to
it - at least anecdotally (and to believers) which is not easily
explainable. Most people in Texas probably think that Satan is
responsible for the mysterious Ouija motion, but that shouldn't matter
in a Saloon.
Seriously - the next time you are in the Dime Box (OK this afternoon:
get there well before happy hour) recruit four youthful volunteers and
do the four-legged stool thing. Left hand and then right hand. You could
probably use a full spittoon for the liquid (just kidding - go with a
larger flat bottomed bowl 3/4 filled with water.
One key seems to be to place the bowl on a plate or shallow dish which
has been lubricated- not direct on the floor. They probably cook with
lard in the Dime Box, but even water may be ok.

Seriously however, we can probably opine that if the thing did work as
advertised - but only with a four legged rotor and not with a three
legged rotor - then it has something to do with "too many degrees of
freedom" being the important (sine qua non) design feature ...OTOH - one
wonders - do the Chinese have a word for red herring?
Howdy Jones,
Why do I gaze upon the Ho info and get the feeling that the tune is
different ( chinese wind chimes) BUT the words are the same ( properly
translated of course) ?
Well! It just so happens that we have a secret lab in the back room of
the Dime Box saloon where we test various scientific theory and claims.
Without getting into the details of some of our secret methods,
equipment or chemistry..we did need a substitute for mercury.
We used both a 3 and 4 legged stool , two gallon jugs of Tequila, two
volunteers( easy to get anywhere in Texas ). got both volunteers lit up
good and spun them on the stools.
The results were amazing but we didn't get any free energy but we did
get results which I won't go into while in a public forum.
Ho'd ho, ho !
