I wrote:
0:30 Tokyo Electric Power guy saying the pool was on the fourth floor.
I noted this because it means I was wrong again, and the pool is NOT in-ground. It really is above ground. I heard "4th-floor holding pool" in previous broadcasts and thought to myself: "Really? That can't be right!?" I am now sure that's what he said here. It is repeated in the text on the screen.
Do they put these things above ground in U.S. and other reactors? Maybe short-term storage pools?
Other reports say that one of the reactor buildings is partially flooded with ordinary water from broken fire-fighting mains. The water is becoming contaminated with submerged radwaste and whatnot.
