Economy, Trade and Industry Minister Akira Amari said Wednesday his ministry will demand that 80 billion yen be allocated from the fiscal 2008 state budget to finance projects to prevent global warming.

Amari said during a press conference after a regular Cabinet meeting on Wednesday morning that the projects include the development of technology to store carbon dioxide under the sea floor.
