Actually, This brings up some serious questions. How would full fledge
(600+ FEG) wind farming operations protect their costly investments
from the ravages of petulant weather conditions. A good wind farm
location HAS to occasionally endure some nasty environmental
conditions like hazardous winds and electrifying lightening capable of
burning out the entire electrical system from top to bottom in a
single jolt.

Do you just reel the damn things in (all 600+ of them!) and "baton the
hatches down, maitee!" as quickly as you can, or can these devices be
realistically engineered to endure major thunderstorms, lightening,
and high winds.

Speaking of lightening, wouldn't it be interesting if we could
eventually devise a way to tap into lightening strikes, perhaps store
successive jolts in massive capacitors. I bet some jolts could be
capable of powering a town possibly for weeks or months.
