I suspect that more than a few inventors and assorted Vorticians would rather win the IgNobel - but at the same time change the world for the better, than to win the Nobel with Ho-Hum work, later discredited...

I doubt anyone but a scientist with excellent credentials would get a nobel for that, at least in physics or chemistry. Who, knows, something critically meaningful to the energy problem could get a peace prize though, but there is a long ways between demonstrating over-unity and actually solving the energy-global-warming crisis. I guess it depends on just how robust "robust" is and how motivated the world is to do what is necessary.
