I would love to see an update on this story before year's end...
Of course, "oil free" would imply that (without a breakthrough in LENR
or ZPE conversion) we must build a lot more wind, solar, nuclear, and
coal grid power plants... So much the better (except for the coal).
Isn't getting totally free of the OPEC "noose" and their "Seven Sisters"
oil-looting compatriots (old and new) worth that effort?

BTW - Moving-on into the "idealism" category of higher consciousness-
According to a few bloggers, and with enough public support, a new
grass-roots regime in DC (NOT either Hillary's Dem-wits nor Rudy's
Repugs) could strip the "old" seven sisters of all ill-gotten excess oil
profits accumulated since 2000 ;-) and use that money (about one
trillion buckaroo$$ ) to easily finance enough solar, wind, and nuclear
capacity to allow us to eliminate, within a decade, all overseas oil
dependence - when using plug-in cars like the Zenn.
Let's hope it works... (both the car, and also the grass-roots political
movement towards a new-green-world-order) even if a few celebs are
bidding up the price of the Zenn:
