Makes sense, since plate tectonics obviously have a role in volcanic activity, which has a role in CO2 emission (cf the nice postings by Stephen and Taylor in the "Thawing..." thread explaining how the planet may have recovered from "snowball Earth" conditions thanks to volcanic CO2 emission and subsequent greenhouse effect)
