To bad A123 is not publicly traded. Maybe this is bad for some other lithium battery companies? In any case I expect this might be a step forward for energy storage in general and thus solar and wind power. Could it be the primary renewable energy storage facility for the US will become EVs? If so, we need an immediate and extensive effort toward development and installation of networked smart kWh meters. Eventually they might be used for individual charging outlets in work places, shopping Malls, and metered parking places.
