Jed, give it up. You alienate him he'll give you a good kicking in later. He

I wouldn't worry about that. There is nothing he can say or do that
will hurt cold fusion more than he already has done, with his keynote address.
I enjoy alienating such people. It give me a chance to sharpen my teeth.
I am not normally confrontational, argumentative or nasty, and I do
not go out of my way to pick a fight. But I stand up for what I
believe in, and I do not hesitate to tell someone he is wrong. After
all this impudent fellow gave a speech denigrating Fleischmann and
Pons; he calls himself a scientist and he will not even glance at
scientific literature or admit that he made a terrible mistake.
Someone needs to call him out on this.
I had the most fun writing: "I am afraid that is not a valid excuse.
Many of the peer-reviewed papers I refer to were available 11 years
ago in your university library." I love to play the innocent who
sounds as if he takes the other guy seriously, at face value, but
misinterprets him. I like it even more when a thick-headed opponent
comes back and says, "But I wasn't making an excuse!" "Oh," sez I, "I
thought you were an academic scientist who believes in peer-review
and reading original sources. Silly me."
It is amazing how many academic scientists these days do not know you
are supposed to go to the library and read something about a subject
before attacking it.
