Perhaps it would not be breathable for people but there are high-altitude species on earth, and perhaps we bio-engineer more.

The experts appear to be divided about the prospects for building an atmosphere on Mars. Some say it can be done and others say it cannot. I wouldn't know, but I hope it can.

If there is already life on Mars, no matter how small and primitive, we should not touch the place.
