Is someone breaks into your home, and steals your valuables, do you then fix the problem by giving them your wallet as well? ...or worse, do you promise to pay them a huge amount of money, if they will fix the problem, however since you don't have that money right now, you borrow from them what they stole, and offer to pay it back at interest, so that you will have enough to bribe them? (IOW they end up with twice the value of what they stole). I get the impression that this is what is currently going on to the tune of trillions of dollars.
