>From Jed & Michel: Regarding Park's latest proclamation:
>>> 4. COLD FUSION AT 20: IT WILL BE ON 60 MINUTES THIS SUNDAY. >>> The faithful, who regard themselves as martyrs, have endured the scorn of >>> skeptics for 20 >>> years. An appearance on an evening entertainment program won’t make it >>> science, and >>> it’s unlikely to change the minds of many scientists, but it’s the most >>> they’ve had to cheer >>> about. At least three well-known scientists who were interviewed by CBS >>> will not appear >>> on the show. I don’t know who will. >> He obviously can't make up his mind on whether it's science or not :) > > He is whistling in the dark. He says "it’s unlikely to change the minds of > many scientists." We'll see about that. Ed Storms predicts it will change > many minds. I don't know but it wouldn't surprise me. As I said, scientists > are not supposed to be swayed by the mass media, but they are. Park, of all > people, should know that. He has been using the mass media to bash cold > fusion all these years. > > Seriously, he just can't bring himself to admit he has been wrong, can he? I wonder who the "three well-known scientists" are whom CBS interviewed but apparently declined to include within the 60 Minutes installment. I'm left to speculate that they contacted Park and informed him that their views wouldn't be included - and also perhaps to cry on his shoulder. How else would he know. Park doesn't seem to know anything else about who will be represented. It sounds so much more definitive to say "I don't know who will." - which deflects from the implication that apparently Park simply chose not to investigate. Meanwhile, in a previous post Mr. Krivit stated: > At a minimum, "on camera": > > McKubre > Fleischmann > Violante > Richard Garwin > Rob Duncan It would appear that those who make it their business to investigate these matters, have some idea.
