Because McKubre suggested it was plug replacement compatible with a
fission reactor. I was testing that assertion.

Yes. The comparison is "rough."
If "reprocessing" is needed after a while due to wear and tear on
the cathode it should be pretty straightforward, with essentially
100% of the palladium recoverable.
Unless the palladium is transmuted, as I discussed in Chapter 2 of the book.
By the way, this comparison is somewhat inaccurate because most of
the heat is generated over 30 days, rather than the entire 150 day
period of the experiment.
