Design News (6/09) magazine cover shouts "Slamming Amps"  and shows "how
electric racers are beating muscle cars at the strip".

An electric 1978 Ford Pinto did a 12. 4 sec quarter mile. A street legal
electric Datsun did 11.4 and an electric motorcycle (Killacycle) did it in 7.8
sec.

The beauty of electric drag racers is that you can "slam" enormous of current
into drag racers and achieve near instantaneous torque.  You don't wait for a
turbo to kick in. A burst of HP so powerful the car pops up on its rear wheeels.

What do these drag racing pioneers want?  "They're all desperate for better
batteries" , "it still comes down to the battery"  ,  " the battery is the key".

Guys, these are not wimpy golf carts.  This is excitement. This is sex. This is
inspiration of the kind that got engineering students in the 1970's to struggle
thru calculus because they all wanted to be "Scotty" on Startrek!!!

This is the same spirit I witnessed at midnight at the Atco NJ
dragway when a half drunk guy in the stands behind me quietly said "I love
this sh*t"  after a dragster blew an oil pan.

If somebody can just find that Really Good Battery,  everything will change.

Sexual sublimation focused in a technical field can be a marvelous thing.......
