Word of the day: indiction

Bet this one is not a part of your diction, induction or reduction. It goes 
back to this story-

Scientists have found evidence that another large object has bombarded
the planet Jupiter, exactly 15 years after the first impacts by the comet
Shoemaker-Levy 9.

Coincidence ? 

In an effort to track down anything with a fifteen year cycle, the  word 
"indiction" came up as being the 15-year cycle used as a chronological unit in 
ancient Rome, and incorporated in some medieval systems. It was not believed to 
have cosmological significance by the Romans AFAIK.

... apparently Jupiter's neighbor Saturn has an almost 30 year cycle which just 
might be relevant, by Jove...
