There were several definitive tritium studies in the years following the announcement, such as Storms, Bockris and especially Fritz Will (National Cold Fusion Institute). Will spent millions and produced data that even Dieter Britz admits he cannot challenge. (Although he still refuses to believe it, obviously, because otherwise he would be forced to admit that cold fusion is real.) I do not think that we would learn anything new by repeating these experiments, and there is no chance they would convince any skeptics. If Will's papers don't convince the skeptics, nothing will. The other reason not to do this is the expense. To do these experiments right, in a way that is highly convincing, you have to hire a staff of experts and spend millions of dollars. You don't need to spend millions if you have the facilities of Los Alamos or BARC available to you already, but needless to say no such facilities are available. - Jed
