Graphic artists have been manipulating sticks and pigments to express unconscious portions of their psyches for 32,000 years. By drawing pictures, they express ideas and emotions using their hands that cannot be expressed by any other means. They are unaware of their own techniques. That is to say, if you ask an artist how she goes about rendering an object or why she chose to put a certain color in a certain place, she will not be able to explain it in words. - Jed
