Before echoing the older comments on the device itself, since there is not enough information to know if he has made a recent advance or not, there could be a logical error in his interpretation of "The Work Energy Principle" - insofar as he seems to be looking at work as only a positive input. When you more broadly define "work" as the removal of a negative influence, such as phase or load imbalance, or hysteresis loss - which seems to be what is happening in the demo, then any apparent gain vanishes.
