You heard right.
The LaRouche people have played a role in cold fusion for a long
time. I find their politics distasteful, but I have to admit, their
publication "21st Century Science and Technology" has published some
excellent articles about cold fusion. Their reporter, Carol White,
was very knowledgeable. I have not heard from her in many years.
I am willing to work with just about any political ally or group
short of the KKK or Al qaeda. (I doubt they have anything to
contribute to cold fusion in any case.) There is never anything
dishonorable about compromising or cooperating across party lines or
between groups of people who disagree about most issues. Furthermore
I welcome contributions from just about everyone. If Robert Park or
John Huizenga had contributed their papers to LENR-CANR, I would have
been sincerely pleased.
