As long as I am grousing, let me point out there is more Truly Insufferable Nonsense from Jones et al. on PDF p. 245 (251 indicated), to wit:

"Excess heat" can only be proven to be nuclear in origin by showing that the products of the nuclear reactions are produced at the same time and rate as the heat and in amounts commensurate with the law of mass-energy conservation. X-rays would, however, be a strong indicator of nuclear (MeV-scale) reactions and would be an effective tracer of high-energy reactions when the precise nature of the processes remains hidden. Until such proof exists, application of Occam's razor demands that "excess heat" be regarded as having its source in ordinary chemical reactions.

I guess the good thing is that it proves yet again I am willing to go to the trouble to reprint skeptical nonsense, which is more than the skeptics themselves have done.

By the way, I have read this whole book, more than once. So yes, I do realize that a lot of it is a waste of time. No need to tell me. Years ago, I extracted several papers, OCRed them, and uploaded clean versions. Those were the ones I thought were worthwhile. So, without naming names I guess it is clear which ones I did not consider worth the effort to upload.

Actually, in some cases I uploaded papers because the authors asked me to, even though I did not think much of the work. In other cases, I asked permission but never got a response, so I did not upload them. Anyway, now that Ikegami and the others gave me blanket permission, the whole thing is uploaded. My legal advisors say I do not need permission from all authors, which is good because several are dead.

I have a couple of other proceedings which I shall upload, as I mentioned. They are not as long as this.

Even with blanket permission I will not run the risk of uploading any papers by a certain unnamed author who threatens to sue people (myself and others) who offer to upload his papers, or who quote from his papers, or even discuss them. Fortunately, I don't see any of his work in these proceedings, and I deleted it from my copy of ICCF-4. Let him sue EPRI.
