Agreed, I think any theory that doesn't assume fusion as the CAUSE of the anomalous heat is a step in the right direction. I don't buy the W-L theory outright but think it is a more likely an EFFECT of a super catalyst (rigid catalyst at nano geometries) creating heat from a constantly reversing chemical reaction. The lack of radiation certainly lends support to their Beta decay theory but I think the need for all these claimed effects to occur inside a catalyst or cavity tells us there is an interim step going on.
