Im not promoting this use of taxpayer bucks,
and find it a repulsive use of technology in many ways
Me too, but Oh How Cool.
I discussed these UAVs in the book.
I hereby predict that within a few years, with or
without cold fusion, someone will have a cheap,
miniature version with a range of several hundred
kilometers, and they will be able to do things
such as . . . assassinating a person who steps
out the house into the open, using a simple
on-board 22 caliber gun. It will be difficult to
trace the UAV back to the operator. I predicted
this in the book. Paparazzi will use them to take
photos of celebrities. Political leaders,
business leaders, movie stars and the like will
have an even more difficult time living normal
lives. Scary, but there is no point to pretending
this will not happen. Americans are thrilled
about UAV now. They do not seem to realize that
our enemies and terrorists will soon have them.
We always seem to think that a technological
advantage such as the atomic bomb in 1945, is permanent.
