I've seen the reaction of pseudoskeptics to Vyosotskii. They don't
care how solid his work is or what he's actually found in his experiments.
They just know that this is ridiculous, that anyone who thinks that
biological organisms could cause transmuation is a complete nut case.
I suspect it blew their fuses.
Too bad for them. Vyosotskii belongs. Storms had the courage to
mention Vyosotskii in his recent review. And it made it past the peer
reviewers.
It is time that the pseudoskeptics be forced, if they want to be
taken seriously, to actually do some experimental work, as was done
before with N-rays and polywater.
If Vyosotski's work can't be replicated, okay, maybe he made some
mistakes. Science advances through mistakes. But I don't see any sign
that anyone has tried to replicate him.
If cold fusion can be managed by a dumb lattice, I see no reason, on
principle, to think that it can't be managed by biological organisms.
Surpising? Sure. But impossible? No.
If I have the opportunity, after my work with the SPAWAR neutrons is
done, I hope to attempt to replicate Vyosotskii. This is, in theory,
something that could be done by amateurs; all that is needed that is
tough would be access to Mossbauer spectroscopy, and my guess is that
this might be possible to arrange. I haven't looked at his other work
on decontamination, which might be more difficult or more dangerous
for home replication.
