Peter, correct me if I've misinterpreted you, but I get the impression that
the conclusion you're implying here is that Dr. Park is passively
"endorsing" Rossi's work through his apparent inaction by deliberately
avoiding any discussion on the matter in "What's New". Granted, Dr. Park has
certainly had plenty of opportunities to talk about Rossi's work in his
weekly news letter. The fact that he hasn't, in my view, speaks volumes.

Meanwhile, individuals like Jed Rothwell who have had personal encounters
with Dr. Park, and as such have had a chance to assess his modus operandi
first-hand, I suspect are less convinced of his apparent softening on the
Cold Fusion front.

IMO, Dr. Park is no dummy. Like in more successful marriages, one maintains
a position of perceived prestige by learning to pick one's battles
carefully. I assume Park has had a chance to ponder the ramifications of the
calorimetric readings, particularly the data pertaining to the 18 hour test
at U. of Bologna. The conclusion I keep coming to is that Park may still
sincerely believe Rossi's work is nothing more than horsh*t. But for now...
let sleeping dogs lie.

I suspect Dr. Park has yet to spot an ailing wildebeest that he knows he can
take down in a pithy paragraph. That IS what "What's New" is all about: The
Three "P's": The Publication of Pithy Paragraphs.

Or to paraphrase something I believe Dr. Storms once stated about Dr. Park:
He is in love with the cleverness of his own words.
