Nano or cornsilk, as far as I know any powder has far more surface area than
wire.

The definition of nanopowder, by the way, is something with "ultrafine"
particles, 1 to 10 nanometers.

Soot particles are usually 50 to 100 nanometers I believe. Soot is the
closest thing people had to nanomaterials 20 years ago.
