Dunno.  But the SS "pit" could contain any radioactivity from
isotopes.  This could allow Rossi to say that the ECat is not
radioactive because it is all contained in the pit.

There is lead shielding.  And there was that anomalous pulse during
startup in the January test. Maybe the reactor initiates with a pulse
of ionizing energy but "calms" down as heat is removed.
