The US may never face the kind of (natural + technological) tragedy that
Japan has suffered recently, but nature alone is poised to do far more harm
on her own. That would be our ticking time bomb - a supervolcano which is
poised to create 10,000 times more damage than any Tsunami.

The period of recent eruptions of the Yellowstone caldera were 2 million
years ago; then 1.3 million and the most recent was 642,000 years ago. If
the period were to be somewhat regular, based on those three events, and it
seems to be, then the period would seem to be between 600,000 and 700,000
years between eruptions depending on how alarmist your statistician is.
There is no doubt she is heating up again.

Let's hope the cycle is closer to the later than the former. That will give
us about 50,000 years to move the entire Eastern USA to the desert Southwest
and Left Coast.

Of course, with the E-Cat we can start "greening up" the deserts ahead of
time :-)

Imagine all of Nevada and most of Utah converted into the Greater Las Vegas
Metropolitan area !!!!

Excuse me, I think I'm going to be sick .

Jones.
