There have been a number of blogs discussing Rossi lately, but no mainstream reports since NyTeknik. Some mainstream reporters are sniffing around, but they have not published anything as far as I know.

The high-quality blogs are a valuable sources of information for us, but they do not influence public opinion.

Traffic at LENR-CANR.org has been at record highs but it is now starting to return to normal.

A major announcement by Essen et al. might push some of the mass media to report this. A 1 MW test in October or the opening of the factory probably will . . . but not necessarily. You would be surprised at how much resistance there is. There might be a few reports in the back pages that investors are putting money into "a controversial energy source." I have never seen mainstream news about Mills, even when people invest millions in his company.

Rossi's claims are so flamboyant they trigger more opposition, not less. Some mainstream scientists are willing to admit there might be a marginal cold fusion effect, close to the noise and probably chemical, but they are outraged when you tell them there is a reactor that inputs 80 W and outputs 16 kW for hours or weeks. As we have seen, there are even people here at Vortex who believe cold fusion is real and yet who refuse to believe that conventional calorimetry works.
