Heh... there might be some truth to that premise. ;-) Actually, the most intelligent conclusion I heard about that whole fiasco was that Saddam strategically lead his enemies to conclude that he actually possessed WMDs - primarily as a way to keep his enemies from thinking twice about invading Iraq. It was a difficult tightrope to walk, trying to convince the UN that there were no WMDs, while simultaneously hinting to his enemies that the exact opposite was true. Unfortunately for Saddam, it didn't matter what conclusion was actually correct. Iraq got invaded anyway. Written on the walls.
