We actually tried this using mu metal shields.  We created shields
which were mechanically gated during the rotation of the machine.  The
problem was the mechanical load of the movement of the shields.

Try this.  Get yourself a cylindrical neodymium magnet and a copper
pipe of slightly larger inside diameter.  Drop the mag into the pipe
and see how long it takes to fall down the pipe.  It looks like magic!

We also tried field gating to divert the magnetic field.  You can
divert the field like in Bearden's MEG; but, the cycle is conservative
still.

It's not really about Spintronics; but, it's interesting.

One thing I do not yet understand is why the force of attraction is
greater than the force of repulsion.  Maybe there is a secret there.
