I didn't immediately know what made mersenne primes so special so I went over to wiki for a qwik upload:

I was nevertheless surprised to discover that the Wiki article on this particular subject appears have multiple issues, i.e., missing citations or footnotes, and unverifiable claims. What in the world would possibly make the study of Mersenne Primes so controversial insofar as Wiki is concerned?
