And, yes, it's being documented.
Good! BTW, I suspect you possess both the temperament and fortitude to assemble such a book. You have firsthand Wiki-editing experience. You've been at it for years. You know key personalities. IMO, you are in a position to say something of value about both the strengths and weaknesses of the Wikipedian model. The kind of expose publication I'm referring to would be for popular consumption. ...Hopefully such a book would be able to document how the high ideals of freedom of information and scientific inquiry, as laid out in Wikipedia, is occasionally abused due to ideological battles involving personalities who feel protected by the cloak of anonymity, anonymous individuals who subsequently attempt to establish their own Wiki-fiefdoms in the guise of their pseudo names. While it is obvious that Wikipedia has produced many wonderful flowerbeds of information it also seems to have attracted thickets of weeds who threaten to choke out many of these wonderful flowerbeds. Wikipedia has been around for a while, maturing so to speak. Perhaps it's about time to point out how some of these weeds get established in various flowerbeds. It's time to discuss how best to go about pruning them. Regarding weeds, it's been brought to my attention that some of these "editors" literally get off on how many "edits" they can introduce into various Wiki subjects. I've been told there exists something akin to competition matches between contenders. They are keeping score. If that isn't the description of a weed, I don't know what is. ;-) Too much testosterones Hopefully such an expose book might be able to conclude with some practical suggestions on how to fix (or at least minimize) these kinds of ideological abuses that tend to choke out freedom of information. My two cents. You up for the job, Abd? Regards, Steven Vincent Johnson www.OrionWorks.com www.zazzle.com/orionworks
