Someone felt that it appears that Defkalion is acting conciliatory... This isn't surprising at all... Defkalion and/or Stemmenos confirmed that Rossi's comment about it being 'purely financial' would explain what has happened. For whatever reasons, Defkalion has not performed according to the contract with Rossi. That 'performance' was most likely some kind of minor payment or deposit. I'm sure there have been many discussions over the issue and Rossi finally said, "That's it. No more talk. If you can't meet the contractual obligations then it is within my right to cancel the contract." Of course, this dialog is done thru their attorneys.
Perhaps Defkalion was trying to gain some leverage, and Rossi eventually got tired of it and called their bluff. Then when they learn that Rossi has been in the US and apparently signed a big deal, Defkalion has to back-peddle and kiss major italian ass in order to save their investment. Rossi's 'big deal' in the US could also be a bluff, but is Defkalion willing to take that chance??? It would appear that Rossi won this round of bluffs... This is big-stakes poker at its best. This is how deals are done... Its all about posturing and leverage and whether one side wants to call the other side's bluff... If it isn't a bluff, then you may have just postured your way out of the deal; in this case, there are hundreds of entities who would take Defkalion's place in a heartbeat. -Mark
