As long as we don't take care that the active sites (NAE) should be clean and free to react with hydrogen/deuterium, the probability of the reactions is very low. When alien gases (i,e not hydrogen) are adsorbed on the sites it is as realistic to wait well measurable reactions to take place as to hope that an athlete with his feet in chains will won the 100 meters race competing with "free" men. If you will think and/or read WO 2010/058288 you will find this as elementary. Peter
