No. The Alchemists did not discover hydrogen, Lavoisier did that.
They did not discover Nickel it was discovered after many other elements where 
discovered.
They did not discover radium.
They did not discover nuclear chemistry and fission.
Maybe they have seen some strange effects but where unable to explain and 
repeat them.

Ok, they did discover phophorus from human urine but did not know what it is 
and why it emitted light.
