He did that, several times. Even with the big reactor people say they could see the whole thing, under the cell. You can't see much in the photos, but you can in person. It would be a pain in the butt to remove the cell, and there is no point, because we know by displacement that there is nothing else in the vessel. > What's he hiding? > The powder.
