You are being unreasonable. Most knowledge has no scientific basis. Nearly
everything we "know" we take other people's word for. You know that
airplane engines are reliable; you know the distance to the sun; and you
may think you know that voting machines work pretty well. All of these
"facts" you take from authoritative sources. You have not actually tested
airplane engines or measured the distance to the sun. If you knew what I
know about voting machines you would have little faith in them.

Rossi's device has been tested by experts such as Kullander. Most of them
said it works exactly as claimed. None of the experts reported that it
cannot possibly work or that it appears to be a fraud. Some said it did not
work when they tested it. Others said it did not work the first time but
later on it did work. It is reasonable for an ordinary person to assume
these experts are right. It may not be scientific in the strict sense of
the word, but 99.999999% of your knowledge comes from such sources.
