Your post brings to mind the astounding words of Dr. Morbius when he expounds on the civilization of the super-race, the Krell to Doc Ostrow in the 1956 classic SiFi movie “Forbidden Planet”
The Krell had been applying their entire racial energies...to a new project...one which they actually seemed to hope...might somehow free them once and for all...from any dependence on physical instrumentalities. A civilization without instrumentalities? Incredible. . . . . And when the Krill technology runs amok and Altir is destroyed, the skipper tells Alta 100,000,000 miles from the blast… Alta, about a million years from now the human race...will have crawled up to where the Krell stood...in their great moment of triumph and tragedy. And your father's name will shine again...like a beacon in the galaxy. It's true, it will remind us...that we are, after all, not God.
