I don't think I have the expertise needed to discuss this in detail, but it's quite an interesting, clearly written paper and I recommend others who do, to read it as well.

It doesn't sound like it should be too hard to verify the claims for experienced researchers, but for this reason it's in turn hard to believe that radiation emission from metals (treated at a nanometric scale) just by exposure to H2 and [optionally] heat due to small scale fusion effects has never been observed so far, even by chance (as NAE, cracks, appear to be a prerequisite for this to happen), in other fields such as the battery/fuel cell industry for example.

Hidden in plain sight would be a suitable expression to define this effect if really confirmed.

Now we only need a foolproof, methodology to reliably and cheaply create these NAE on common metals (such as Ni, Cu). Maybe Francesco Celani has one?
