The other advantage is that they work at night. However, the solar panels to have some advantages. They are quiet and nonpolluting. They do not require fuel which is in short supply in New York. I think that large portable solar panels of this design would be useful in things like county fairs and other short-term outdoor installations. Solar panels are now in widespread use in things like highway signs and highway weather stations used to detect fog in Virginia. - Jed
