the article is interesting but it critics only on 2 points.

the second is that energy is expensive, which mean that with LENR is not a
problem.

the second is that you can save water. it is true, and even more I think
that the fear of globally lacking water is a mythology fed by the usual
neo-malthusians (the one that repeat ad nauseam the population bomb,
despite well known facts)...

in some place there is lack of clean water because of poverty.
in other it is because of climate, and underdevelopement.

most of moderncountries lack water simply because the farmers pump all they
can until the urbans moan... it will be always not enough...
the solution is to change crop when it is too much, or pump/deslinize water
elsewhere...

water is naturally recycled. one of the most recycled resource.
the fearmogering on waters could be laughable if UNO was not joining the
joke.

Problem of water is problem of energy to clean it, to pump it, to
desalinize it, and it will never change...
farmers will pump it to the maximum untill you stop them.
poor people will have proble with water even in tropical zone, while riche
people in desert will have water...

LENr can solve wealth and energy problem.
