Nano nickel
Health/safety
First, I would like to reiterate what others have pointed
out about the health risks. I personally
suffered symptoms of pulmonary hypertension as a result to exposure. Initially
the doctors diagnosed it as PH and
said I had 3 to 5 year life expectancy. But
local doctors had no info on nano Ni. I
have now mostly recovered due to massive use of
Vitamin B12 (the Co slowly replaces and excludes the Ni).
The material will go through many valves, chew up vacuum
pumps, …. It can even go through some
plastics and HEPA filters are too coarse for it. I ended up using Neodymium
magnets on my
tubing with Hepa material to slow the flow down. (use very slow changes in
pressures). I also ended up having all those systems in
negative pressure cabinets vented to the outside.
Materials
I have two patents pending on use of “inert materials” (like
zirc oxide and ceramic) to isolate fine metals (Ni, Pd, Ti, alloys of H
absorbing materials) to avoid sintering.
I have turned to putting Ni, Pd and other metals in mesopore
carbon. The idea is to have fine metal
structures but to have them contained in larger particles that will not allow
sintering. Also it is easier to pass current through the
C than it is ZrO2. I feel it is the
change in current (numbers of H or D flowing) that give rise to initiation of
the event. (and yes a provisional was
filed last year) Dennis
