I think most of the people raising objections on Vortex to the recent E-Cat
test are sincere and would just like certain of their concerns to be
addressed. The testers should make a best effort to meet people with such
concerns half-way. That will undercut the more far-fetched objections from
the skeptical fringe. As implausible as some of the scenarios sound to me,
there are reasonable people who will disagree. I do not see how tests of
Rossi's device will accomplish anything for him if such steps are not
taken. It is possible that he is intentionally aiming to provoke sincere
observers in this way, but I find that similarly far-fetched. I assume
that he is sincere in trying to arrange for independent tests; if this is
the case, there are some additional steps that he can take to address
potential flaws that have been identified.

The question is how much of the gaussian curve of observers does he want to
convince with his tests? I suspect the level of skepticism here on Vortex
puts us in the 80th percentile of people willing to go along with him, in
part because of what we've seen in connections entirely unrelated to
Rossi's E-Cat. If Rossi wants to pick up the 50th percentile, he will have
to work harder. I think it is possible to do so if he wishes to.
