I don't know much about nuclear physics, but wouldn't it be endothermic?
Kind of the opposite of cold fusion.

I have never heard of anyone doing calorimetry with this experiment so
there is no evidence either way. Reifenschweiler's studies used very small
samples because tritium is dangerous and so easily detected you don't need
much.

Martin Fleischmann was very interested in this. I think he and
Reifenschweiler become friends. They were both upset with me at one point.
