Ken's recent illness was reported in several places, but not his passing. None of the local newspapers carried the story.
This message below appeared as a comment on PESN from Ken's daughter and is very poignant; although the main article on Ken was not updated. We should indeed honor her wishes by focusing on Ken's contributions, especially the EVO. Good morning all. I'm Diane, Ken's eldest daughter. Dad passed away last Friday at noon. His death was caused by swelling of the brain and not cancer, although he certainly had that. This was likely caused by complications of a recent fall. His passing was peaceful, without pain and most natural. For the record, Ken neither endorsed nor denounced any person's private choices whether they be concerning medicine or anything else. He was in fact, a very private person who made his own decisions and allowed others to make theirs, that was his gift. The family appreciates all the love and respect shown to dad in life and in death. We ask that any conversations, especially on the internet, be focused on his valuable contributions to the world and not on speculation of any kind as to what he would have thought or should have done. He would have done the same. The family will be discussing any potential plans privately. Thank you again for respecting Ken in his death as you have in life.
