From: Ron Kita
( Aliens are pre-LENR).
A fun way to waste a few minutes on a Monday Morning.
Indeed it is. Here is "something else" to throw into the idea-blender for a
jolly old Roswell Day + 66 tribute (which is six solar cycles, if that means
anything to you). Executive summary: "they" are coming back. and it is for
the HotCat :-)
For the record, anyone can appreciate the implications of well-written
Sci-Fi without believing that we have been physically visited by aliens from
another planet. There are viable options that make more sense,
scientifically. These may apply to Roswell too.
There is no good forensic evidence for physical visitation but there should
be, if it were true. Heck, we can even tell what Otzi the ice-man had for
his last meal 5,300 years ago but not a single bit of alien DNA has turned
up. Nevertheless, a kind of quasi-physical visitation from afar is
conceivable if not likely - along the lines of quantum teleportation . which
leaves nothing but a mental imprint in a few sensitive humans (just like an
old Star Trek episode, which is as real as Roswell, to many).
Thusly, there is an interesting plot-line which comes up in reading Ron's
comments (out of context). That plot sounds a bit like "Planet of the Apes"
meets "12 Monkeys" or something to the effect of this strange possibility: a
modest level of intelligence could peak-out in a civilization which was
still somewhere below human level, but above ape level). Yet, this
particular culture has evolved elsewhere with a head-start of millions of
years and is strong in psychic skills. Even slightly subhuman intelligence
levels could - on paper - reach higher cumulative levels of advanced
culture, especially in some fields than what we have on Earth, given a
million year head-start (in that other location). Civilization is cumulative
and thus {dumber-but-older} can end up at higher present level in some
endeavors compared to {smarter-but-younger}. Think Dune.
We could surmise that this older, but slightly lower mental capacity
civilization (from Gliese 581 c) could not grasp the physics of nuclear
energy or LENR well enough to permit actual interplanetary spacecraft - but
did develop the computer skills which allow quantum teleportation (aka "beam
us up, Scotty). Wiki has a fictional prototype for non-trekkies.

In the tradition of steam punk, we must assume that this "alien"
civilization is powered by a lower tech method, possibly some kind of
efficient "water fuel" process, which was discovered early on in their
history, obviating the need for either hot or cold fusion, but now they have
run through most of their water. The computers could have triodes and gear
wheels. Anyway, these post-simians want to "visit" as many other culture as
possible vicariously - in order to find survival answers. They can appear
via quantum teleportation for brief periods: learn and leave.
And they know a water planet when they see one. OK to complete this
ultra-short story for this 66 Anniversary Day- the reason the aliens seemed
to appear in Roswell in 1947 was in response to the confluence of an energy
burst in their vicinity - and the knowledge that there was water on Terra,
so they had been watching. They noticed the gamma anomaly from Hiroshima,
indicating that an advanced power source was arising. They sensed that this
would help them advance their own civilization's needs but when they
teleported here - they realized immediately that the energy source was too
deadly for their own needs.
Teleported ETs left quickly - leaving only a vivid memory in the minds of
those in pre-TV Roswell - who thought they had made some kind of real
contact. But the Glieseans have kept a close eye on further developments on
Earth, realizing that they were comparatively deficient themselves (in some
kinds of mentality) having forced pacifism and equalitarianism on everyone
on their own planet millennia ago (or is that the spin from red states?).
Anyway, with the advent of the HotCat, we are almost certain to see them
once again . real soon now.
Coming to a theatre near you.
say. aren't the Brown Mountain lights near Mayodan?
