Yup. I confirm it says 2009. I heard about Rossi about that time. I did not report it here because there was nothing to report yet. He kept a low profile. When a researcher does not want people talking about him I honor his wish to be left alone. > There is no point to**** > > > speculating.**** > > ** ** > > Ah, but Jed HAS openly speculated on this very matter in the past!**** > > ** ** > > See:**** > > ** ** > > http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg56388.html > Ah, but there is not point to it. R&D usually goes better when you throw lots of money at the problem and buy every instrument in sight. That was Edison's method. It drove his investors nuts, but it worked. > If that truly is the case, they have absolutely no need to enhance their > credibility particularly when they are still in an extremely vulnerable R&D > stage of trying to enhance the reliability and stability of the reaction. > While good progress has been made, I'm still under the impression that the > reaction is still highly unstable. It did not work for him. Many inventors and discoverers have deliberately kept a low profile. I do not think this is a good strategy but it is not for me to decide. John Hadjichristos mentioned another reason to me. He wishes to avoid a situation like the 1989 brouhaha that resulted from the U. Utah press conference. I think this could be avoided with a skillful public relations campaign and by using the Internet, which did not exist in its present form back then. - Jed
