Yup. I confirm it says 2009.

I heard about Rossi about that time. I did not report it here because there
was nothing to report yet. He kept a low profile. When a researcher does
not want people talking about him I honor his wish to be left alone.

I have a feeling they need money, but I wouldn't know. R&D usually goes
better when you throw lots of money at the problem and buy every instrument
in sight. That was Edison's method. It drove his investors nuts, but it
worked.

That is my hypothesis. I think Mike McKubre agrees. I think that was Jim
Patterson's plan as well. It did not work for him. Many inventors and
discoverers have deliberately kept a low profile.

I do not think this is a good strategy but it is not for me to decide.

John Hadjichristos mentioned another reason to me. He wishes to avoid a
situation like the 1989 brouhaha that resulted from the U. Utah press
conference. I think this could be avoided with a skillful public relations
campaign and by using the Internet, which did not exist in its present form
back then.
